Rates & Insurance

Fish Psychotherapy & Consulting invites you to a transparent and grounded conversation about services and fees. I aim to make this information clear so that you can make informed decisions about care. I name fees, insurance participation, and policies clearly because transparency is part of the care relationship. Knowing what to expect financially helps you make informed choices about your care and supports the trust we build together.

Fees for Psychotherapy Services

My rates reflect the relational and individualized nature of the work we do together:

  • Initial Intake Session:
    $275

  • 55-minute Follow-Up Therapy Session:
    $250

  • 45-Minute Follow-Up Therapy Session:
    $235

  • 30-Minute Follow-Up Therapy Session:
    $210

These fees are due at the time of service. I accept major credit cards, Health Savings Account (HSA), and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

I offer discounted rates for clients who are paying out of pocket. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this.

Fees for Scholarly Engagements

I offer speaking engagements, workshops, trainings, and consultation rooted in Indigenous knowledge, care, and relational practice. These rates reflect preparation, travel time, and the labor of sharing work that is grounded in community and accountability:

  • Standard travel-required engagement fee: $5,000
This includes preparation, travel, and presentation time, and reflects the additional responsibilities such as caregiving logistics that accompany travel.

  • Non-travel engagements:
Flexible and tailored based on scope, audience, and context. I offer special consideration for Indigenous organizations and community-based events.

Insurance & Out-of-Network Reimbursement

I’m an in-network provider with the following carriers:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Optum/United Healthcare/United Behavioral Health

  • Aetna/First Health

  • Medica

  • United Medical Resources

  • UCare

If I am not contracted with your insurance plan, you can still seek out-of-network reimbursement. In that case, you pay at the time of service and may submit a receipt (superbill) to your insurer for reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to understand your out-of-network benefits, deductibles, and reimbursement rates.

Things You Might Be Wondering

  • I suggest contacting your health insurance carrier and asking if Jillian Fish (NPI #1114602034) is an in-network provider for your plan. I also suggest asking what your co-pay is and if you have a deductible. If I am not in-network with your health insurance plan, I suggest asking if your health insurance carrier will reimburse your appointments with me.

  • Sessions must be canceled at least 24-hours in advance via email or phone. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full session fee. I wait 15 minutes past the start time; if I haven’t heard from you, the session is considered a no-show. This helps me keep my work sustainable and consistent.

  • For individuals paying out of pocket for services, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much services are expected to cost. Under the law, health care providers must give patients who do not have insurance or who chose not to use insurance an estimate of your bill. You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute your bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
